Beast Mode Tournament Winners!

0

We’ve come a long way from our big, scary, 64 team tournament, and I thank everyone that stuck through all the troubles we had running this thing.  Now with out of the way, I’d like to congratulate Team Hotshotjiji! They climbed their way to the top of the brackets and won five Riot Singed Skins. We hope in the future to start hosting some weekly tournaments. I’d be interested in any help I can get with a weekly tournament project, so if you have any history with running tournaments or leagues contact us at our email address!

Finding your Beast Mode Team and the Team your playing!

BEAST MODE

U Beastin' Bro?

So we’re kinda new at this whole “Hosting a Tournament” Thing. So this should help you find your team, and find your opponents. I’ve created a number of resources for you to use to get in touch with everyone you need in order to get your games going.

We now have a subforum on OUR FORUMS for the tournament

use this to help get your teams together and report wins/loses ect. If you have an account on the site you’re ready to post already. If not then I suggest you register. To make things easy if you haven’t registered already, do so with your in game name so its not confusing.

Updated the Tournament Page with information about finding your team and getting things going:

Here you’ll find the bracket THIS IS YOUR FRIEND, and you’ll also find the team roster with all the in game names in it for you to find your team. THIS IS ALSO YOUR FRIEND. Be sure to try and add everyone on your team to your friends list in game. If you are getting some one who comes up as “This username doesn’t exist” or something to that effect its because they either don’t know how to spell their own name or they are from the EU server (which we are not hosing this tournament on!)

Added an in game channel for people to try and find there team and the team they’re playing against: Its called All MIA Tournament

This ones pretty simple. Just join this channel in game! You can also use this to help set up your games and the like. If you are getting strange friend requests its probably from our tournament and you should join this channel to see if some one is on there looking to set up a game or get you in on your team!.

Now you can no longer tell us that we didn’t give you resources to get your games going! ;) Now get going and get your matches ready! I’ll make a sticky in the Beast Mode forums for you to report wins.

ARAM BEASTMODE TOURNAMENT

0

Finally, the official announcement you’ve all been waiting for. The All MIA Podcast is proud to be hosting its first official tournament!  This event will be an ARAM (All Random All Middle) single-elimination tournament.

A quick rundown of the rules and play style:

ARAM (lovingly referred to as Beastmode from this point on) is a 5v5 all-middle brawl with teams composed of random champions.  Players are restricted from leaving the middle lane at any time during the fight.  This prevents healing, shopping, jungling, baron, and ganking from the brush.  It forces action within the middle lane, making coordination amongst your teammates a necessity. The use of fortify is prohibited, as is running back and hiding behind invincible towers (but really, why would you want to do this anyway?)  Individual hosts will often ban snowball items (eg: mejai’s and other items which gain ‘Stacks’), although we are allowing snowball items in this tournament. After some feedback from the community and tournament participants, we’ve decided to BAN SNOWBALL ITEMS from the Beastmode tournament. There are no other restrictions on items or spells, just a ban on returning to the base to shop or heal except through death.

TLDR: No healing at base, no shopping while alive, no jungling, no running into jungle or brush, no running back farther than one tower, no fortify, snowball items are allowed BANNED.

Prizes:

We’ve decided to give away FIVE FREE RIOT SINGED SKINS to the winning team in this tournament.  The winning team will be invited onto the podcast for an episode, wherein we’ll talk about hilarious antics and the ever-developing metagame that makes LOL so awesome. You’ll also get to face-off against the ALL MIA team in a post-podcast match.  Additionally, we will be giving away some FREE RIOT POINTS to the first place team!  Not bad for a free tournament, right!?

Okay this sounds awesome, now where do I sign up?

Simply send an email to allmiapodcast@gmail.com with the subject line of “BEASTMODE” or “ARAM”.  Include your summoner name and the summoner names of up to four friends.  If you’re entering as a full team, include a team name, or I’ll lovingly make one up for you (I can be hilariously creative!). We’re not requiring you to enter as a team of five, so don’t worry if you don’t have enough friends who are cool enough for Beastmode! Plenty of single-entries will be around to substitute in case one of your team mates goes MIA during the tournament.  Please submit your entry by 9/26/2010. As long as we have at least 16 teams by this point, we’ll be good to go, although we’d love to have many more!

Matches will be played on a goodwill arrangement between the teams.  If your team cannot come to an agreement on a match playtime within a reasonable period of time, have a representative from both teams email me with a request for a new matchup.  A livestream recording of the matches would be excellent, as well as give us plenty of fodder to make jokes at your expense cool footage to piece together and narrate over for highlights.

Please send any questions, comments, suggestions, or hatemail to allmiapodcast@gmail.com

*EDIT* If you’re interested in the tournament, or if you’ve already submitted a team, PLEASE post in the thread! We want to make this tournament as huge and fun as possible!

#016 – MIA Radio Presents – This Runeterrian Life

0

Welcome to This Runeterrian Life…

Welcome to another somber edition of This Runeterrian Life, I am your host Paradox, and in todays show we discuss PTR Patch Changes, Galio, and the new champion Urgot, the Headsman’s Pride. We didn’t have any UMADBRA Submissions this week, remember you can always send us your MP3 Audio Files to our email address allmiapodcast@gmail.com. My co-host Archon is running a ARAM Tournament for you all to enjoy! If you would like to get in on the awesome that is an ARAM Tournament, send us an email with your team name and your team members. When we get enough teams we’ll set a date and get this tournament underway. Expect some kind of prize from us for the winners and a guest spot on the show for the winning team!

Speaking of Contests, I’d like to talk about our Intro Music, or lack there of. We announced an intro song competition a few weeks ago and in our show this week we talk vaguely about what we would like to hear in your submissions. Today I’ll lay out a set of ground rules for the contest so that you can all start cranking out a killer intro for the show:

In order to qualify for judgment you must fallow these rules:

  • Your intro song should use in game sounds to some degree. Extracting the game audio isn’t that difficult and I’ll provide a link to how to do that when I find it.
  • Your song MUST NOT Contain any copyright music. This should go with out saying. Your song should be 100% original. We’re not looking for the next Vanilla Ice!
  • Your song must work as an intro and outro. This means that it should be short, easy to talk over if needed, and you should expect it to fade out and in when needed. AKA Keep it short!

When it comes to what we like, here are a few examples:

  • The Instance Podcast has a great intro song if your looking for inspiration when using game sounds.
  • Our past intro songs have been songs such as Hustlin’ by Rick Ross, Osaka Loop Line by Discovery and I want you back (in discovery) by Discovery. Its safe to say that we enjoy a good beat, something that has a good ramp up moment and kicks in.
Thats about it. Remember to send your submissions over to our podcast email (allmiapodcast@gmail.com) and we’ll take a look at your songs! We’ll probably set a cut off date at some point, but for right now we’re just building interest! As far as prizes go, we’ll let you know what we come up with. It could be a free skin, or some RP, or something along those lines. I know there are a lot of talented people here in the LoL Community and I really want to see what you guys can do!

Show Notes for #008 – Episode of 1000 Fails, and Pendragon!

0

This is what G.I.S. thinks Pendragon looks like. I’m going to guess he’s the one in the middle.

What a fail-tastic recording Sunday night turned out to be! In the end we did get our awesome interview with Riots own Pendragon! So, show notes are going to be pretty light this week. In our interview we talk with Pendragon about the Razer 3v3 tournament, Season 1, the future of LoL as an ESport, all while trying to stay as “on topic” as we can. Next week should be a pretty epic cast, we’ll have new patch notes as well as a new hero to talk about! Riot sure seems to be cranking out these updates, I’m starting to have a hard time keeping track. Hope TOsee you all Sunday Night, and until then we’ll see you on the internet!
